Boutique Catering in 3 Great Styles

  • Cocktail Parties

The great feature of cocktail food is the wonderful combination of flavors and textures you get all in one bite! The Gourmet Guys will work with you to design truly unique hors d’oeuvres, cheese-and-charcuterie displays, and dessert tables to wow your guests. And if you’d like your food passed among your guests, we’ll arrange for waiters to serve your food in style.

A great option when you want guests to mingle and chat.

  • Buffets

Whether set out as one serving table or as themed stations throughout your home, a buffet gives your guests options. Add a carving station for some extra flair. And don’t forget dessert! The Gourmet Guys will work with you to create a unique menu appropriate for your occasion. Then they’ll set it up and allow your guests to serve themselves—or, if you prefer, they’ll make waiters availble to serve your guests.

A great option for larger gatherings.

  • Sit-down Dinners

Enjoy restaurant-style dining right in your own home! The Gourmet Guys will begin by creating a custom menu in close consultation with you, to ensure it will be food you love. They’ll set your dining table (with your own dinnerware or with rentals they’ll arrange). They’ll prepare your food. And then they’ll wait on you at table, serving your meal in style.

What a great way to pamper your loved one for a birthday, an anniversary, Valentine’s Day,, or to celebrate one of life’s special moments!

FAQs

  • ‘Boutique’ refers to the smaller, more specialized service we offer. The Gourmet Guys is not a caterer, but rather a personal chef service. That means you’re not purchasing food products; you’re hiring chefs. You won’t find a pre-determined list of food options on our website; instead, our chefs will work with you to create a truly unique menu, and then they’ll prepare the food right in your own kitchen.

  • As a personal chef service, The Gourmet Guys don’t show up with food that’s been cooked elsewhere; everything is prepared on site. That site doesn’t have to be your home, however. As long as your venue has a functioning kitchen that can be made available to us for the full food preparation process, our chefs will be happy to cater your event there.

  • The Gourmet Guys is not a caterer; it’s a personal chef service. Our chefs will prepare all food on site, with care for freshness and safety.

  • Perhaps the best feature of boutique catering is that it’s all customized to your needs and tastes. You might like to have us reproduce some menu items you’ve enjoyed before, and we’ll be happy to do that for you. But we’ll also be excited to work with you to come up with some offerings that you haven’t seen anywhere else. It’s all about custom cuisine! For that reason, we don’t have a prepared list of food and prices ready to go. Instead, during your free initial consultation we’ll get a sense of what you’re looking for, and then we’ll get back to you with menu options and prices. The result will be an event perfectly suited to your needs and priced within your budget.

  • One of the great advantages of working with personal chefs is that it’s a fully customizable service. Your chefs will work with you to create a menu that meets your needs, including special diets and concern for food allergies. And rest assured that your chefs have been trained to take appropriate steps when dealing with food allergies.

  • That’s up to you. Some clients like to be present while food is being prepared; if that’s the case, we’ll work with your schedule to make that happen. Other clients don’t want to be tied down during the food preparation process; in that case, we’ll make arrangements with you to be in your kitchen while you’re not there. We’re happy to work in whichever way you find most comfortable.

  • Since they’ll be working in your kitchen, our chefs will be relying on your refrigerator, stove, and oven to prepare the meal, of course. When it comes to pots, pans, mixers, and other portable equipment, we’ll follow your lead. If you’re comfortable having our chefs use your cookware, we’ll do that; if not, we’ll be happy to bring our own.

  • Pricing for your event will be worked out in consultation with you, and will be spelled out in detail in our written Service Agreement. Typically, you would be invoiced for a down payment prior to the purchase of food and then billed for the balance on the day of your event. Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, electronic funds transfer, or paper check.

  • Yes. Protecting your home and your guests is our top priority. The Gourmet Guys is fully insured. We carry A+ rated general insurance, product liability insurance, and equipment coverage. And if you’d like to be added as an additional named insured on The Gourmet Guys’ policy, that’s possible at no extra charge—just ask your chef about this option during your initial consultation.

  • The Gourmet Guys does not hold a Pennsylvania liquor license. Therefore, we do not sell alcohol to our clients or their guests, and we do not purchase alcohol on their behalf. However, if our clients legally purchase their own alcohol at a licensed Pennsylvania establishment, we will be happy to provide staff members who are RAMP trained and certified for the safe service of alcoholic beverages. We’ll also arrange for the extra insurance that the service of alcohol requires.

  • In our free initial consultation, The Gourmet Guys will help you to assess your needs in this area. We’ll be happy to make use of whatever you already own, and we’ll arrange for reasonably priced rentals for anything you need.
